Ananya Basak bagged a double by winning singles titles in junior girls and women categories of the 1st R N Singhdeo Memorial All-Odisha Ranking Table Tennis Tournament that concluded at M B Dharamshala in Balangir today.
Other seven titles of the three-day tournament were claimed by Sushree Patnaik, Sahil Sunder Bhuyan, Yoshita Jamula, Arya S Mahaprasastha, M Ishwar, Bikash Singh and Asif Haque. Odisha Transport & Commerce Minister Ramesh Chandra Majhi gave away the prizes at the closing function. Rajya Sabha Member Ananga Uday Singhdeo was present on the occasion.
RESULTS (All finals): Cadet girls: Sushree Patnaik (Khurda) bt Anu Sweta Hembrom (RSP) 3-0 (11-5, 11-4, 11-9); Cadet boys: Sahil Sunder Bhuyan (Cuttack) bt Nakul Jamula (Cuttack) 3-0 (11-5, 11-8, 11-4); Sub-junior girls: Yoshita Jamula (Khurda) bt Gayatri Mitra (Bhubaneswar) 4-2 (11-9, 15-13, 11-9, 7-11, 5-11, 11-8); Sub-junior boys: Arya S Mahaprasastha (Cuttack) bt B Raju (Cuttack) 4-2 (11-4, 9-11, 11-8, 3-11, 7-11, 11-9); Junior girls: Ananya Basak (Bhubaneswar) bt Suryasmita Aparajita (Bhubaneswar) 4-0 (11-4, 11-2, 11-9 , 11-2); Junior boys: M Ishwar (Cuttack) bt Janmenjay Moharana (RSP) 4-1 (13-11, 4-11, 11-7, 11-7, 11-7); Youth boys: Bikash Singh (RSP) bt M Ishwar 4-0 (11-7, 12-10, 11-6, 11-6); Women: Ananya Basak bt Pousali Ghatak (AG Odisha) 4-3 (11-9, 11-9, 11-13, 6-11, 11-3, 6-11, 11-3); Men: Asif Haque (RBI) bt Tausif Haque (ECo Rlys) 4-0 (11-6, 11-2, 11-9, 13-11).
